Piper Companies is seeking a Partnership Development Lead to join an industry leading credit union located in McLean, VA. The Partnership Development Lead will be responsible for identifying, developing, and executing strategic partnerships that drive membership growth, consumer lending expansion, and increased market penetration across the credit union’s suite of financial products. This individual will work closely with executive leadership, consumer banking, marketing, and product teams to establish enterprise-level relationships with organizations, associations, universities, and affinity groups that create long-term value and portfolio growth opportunities.
Responsibilities for the Partnership Development Lead Include:
• Identify, evaluate, and pursue strategic partnership opportunities that support membership acquisition and consumer lending growth objectives.
• Develop and execute partnership strategies focused on expanding adoption of auto loans, personal loans, credit cards, small business lending products, and other financial services offerings.
• Establish and maintain executive-level relationships with corporations, universities, professional associations, affinity groups, and other strategic organizations.
• Negotiate partnership agreements and business terms that align with organizational growth goals and member value propositions.
• Collaborate with Marketing, Product Management, Consumer Banking, and Executive Leadership teams to develop go-to-market plans for partnership initiatives.
• Create and implement partnership playbooks, performance metrics, and operational frameworks to support scalable growth.
• Conduct market analysis and competitive research to identify emerging partnership opportunities and industry trends.
• Develop business cases, financial models, and executive presentations supporting strategic partnership investments.
• Monitor partnership performance and provide recommendations to optimize member acquisition, portfolio growth, and return on investment.
Qualifications for the Partnership Development Lead Include:
• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Marketing, Economics, or a related field required.
• 8+ years of experience in strategic partnerships, business development, alliance management, or relationship management within financial services.
• Proven success developing enterprise partnerships that drive revenue growth, customer acquisition, or portfolio expansion.
• Strong understanding of consumer banking products including auto loans, personal loans, credit cards, and small business lending solutions.
• Experience negotiating complex business agreements and managing executive-level stakeholder relationships.
• Demonstrated ability to develop partnership strategies, business cases, and go-to-market plans.
• Strong analytical, financial modeling, and presentation skills.
• Excellent communication, relationship-building, and executive influencing abilities.
• Experience working within a bank, credit union, fintech, or other financial institution preferred.
Compensation for the Partnership Development Lead includes:
Salary Range: $170,000 - $200,000 annually depending on experience
