Piper Companies is seeking an Engineering Program Manager to lead complex end-to-end hardware product development programs within a cutting-edge AI infrastructure startup onsite near San Jose, CA Monday through Friday. The ideal Engineering Program Manager role is a seasoned leader with deep technical acumen and a proven ability to drive cross-functional execution across silicon, systems, and manufacturing environments.
Responsibilities of the Engineering Program Manager:
- Lead end-to-end product development programs from concept through production and launch.
- Drive execution across engineering, operations, supply chain, manufacturing, quality, and external partners.
- Coordinate schedules, deliverables, dependencies, risks, and issue resolution across multiple teams.
- Organize, lead, and document technical meetings, ensuring clear follow-ups and accountability.
- Maintain detailed project plans, dashboards, status reports, and executive communications using tools such as Smartsheet.
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional engineering teams including Systems (EE/ME/Thermal/Packaging), ASIC, and Software.
- Manage vendor, supplier, and contract manufacturer relationships to ensure program success.
- Identify risks early and drive mitigation strategies to meet timeline, cost, and quality objectives.
- Support prototype builds, validation, manufacturing readiness, and production ramp activities.
- Foster strong collaboration across global teams in a fast-paced startup environment.
Qualifications of the Engineering Program Manager:
- 10+ years of experience in high-tech industries such as telecommunications, electronics, or data infrastructure.
- 5+ years of Engineering Program Management experience leading complex hardware or embedded systems programs.
- Must be eligible to work in the United States and obtain and maintain an Active U.S. Government Secret Clearance.
- Proven experience managing full product lifecycle from concept through production.
- Strong expertise with tools such as Smartsheet, Microsoft Project, Jira, and Confluence.
- Experience working with suppliers, vendors, and contract manufacturers.
- PMP certification or equivalent prefered
- Experience with hardware systems, embedded platforms, networking, or electromechanical systems preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Embedded Systems, or related field.
Compensation for the Engineering Program Manager includes:
- Salary range: $210,000 – $250,000 depending on experience
- Comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, vision, 401(k), and PTO
