Asset Management & Reliability Engineering Consultant – Clean Utilities (Remote)

Location: Remote (Must Be U.S.-based)

Duration: 4–6 Month Contract

Rate: $68 - $80/hr

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Asset Management & Reliability Engineering Consultant to support Clean Utility systems during facility startup and operational readiness activities. This role will serve as an extension of the maintenance and reliability team, helping develop asset hierarchies, support criticality assessments, establish maintenance strategies, and standardize equipment documentation across multiple sites.

This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on reliability professional who can work independently, collaborate with global teams, and help drive standardization of maintenance programs and asset data.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain asset hierarchies and equipment taxonomies down to the component level.
  • Support Asset Criticality Assessments (ACA), Critical Component Maintenance Assessments (CCMA), and reliability evaluations.
  • Review equipment and system documentation, including P&IDs and engineering drawings.
  • Analyze utility and process equipment to identify critical components and maintenance requirements.
  • Develop preventive maintenance strategies and maintenance task recommendations based on equipment criticality and reliability principles.
  • Collect, validate, and standardize equipment master data for CMMS/SAP implementation.
  • Support preparation of asset data packages, functional locations, and equipment records for SAP.
  • Collaborate with engineering, maintenance, and operations teams to align documentation and maintenance standards across sites.
  • Participate in document reviews, approvals, and governance workflows.
  • Maintain project documentation within systems such as SharePoint and Veeva.
  • Support maintainability reviews, spare parts identification, and equipment documentation efforts.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Maintenance, Reliability, or a related technical discipline, or equivalent industry experience.
  • 5+ years of experience in maintenance, reliability engineering, asset management, or maintenance planning.
  • Strong understanding of preventive maintenance, asset management, and reliability-centered maintenance concepts.
  • Experience performing or supporting ACA, CCMA, FMECA, or risk-based maintenance assessments.
  • Experience developing maintenance strategies and maintenance programs for utility or process systems.
  • Ability to build equipment hierarchies and work at a detailed component level.
  • Experience reviewing P&IDs and technical equipment documentation.
  • Strong documentation, data management, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and effectively collaborate with cross-functional and multi-site teams.
