Piper Companies is seeking a Vulnerability Remediation Engineer supporting a client in the cybersecurity and compliance-driven technology industry in the Raleigh-Durham, NC area. The Vulnerability Remediation Engineer role is ideal for a technically strong professional with experience in modern web technologies, cloud security, and regulatory frameworks such as NIST and FedRAMP.
Responsibilities of the Vulnerability Remediation Engineer include:
• Drive remediation efforts by identifying, prioritizing, and resolving vulnerabilities across cloud and application environments
• Partner with engineering and security teams to implement secure coding practices across React and NodeJS applications
• Develop and enforce access controls within AWS EKS environments, leveraging RBAC to ensure least-privilege principles
• Utilize Terraform to automate infrastructure remediation and maintain secure, compliant cloud configurations
• Support audit readiness by aligning remediation processes with NIST and FedRAMP compliance requirements
Requirements of the Vulnerability Remediation Engineer include:
• 3+ years of experience in vulnerability management, remediation, or application security
• Hands-on development experience with React and NodeJS in a production environment
• Strong understanding of compliance frameworks such as NIST, FedRAMP, or similar regulatory standards
• Experience managing AWS infrastructure, specifically EKS, RBAC policies, and Terraform automation
• Familiarity with security tools, CI/CD pipelines, and cloud-native architecture principles
Compensation for the Vulnerability Remediation Engineer include:
•$115,000 - $135,000 annually
