Senior Software Engineer

Piper Companies is hiring a Senior Software Engineer for a fast-growing, mission-driven healthcare technology organization located in a remote environment (EST preferred). The Senior Software Engineer will play a key role in building and scaling a greenfield platform that unifies data, supports care delivery, and drives better outcomes for underserved populations. The Senior Software Engineer is a direct hire position operating fully remote with occasional travel for team meetups.

Responsibilities of the Senior Software Engineer:

• Design and build scalable platform services, web and mobile applications, and AI-powered workflows

• Leverage AI-enhanced development tools to accelerate delivery, improve testing, and optimize CI/CD pipelines

• Contribute to greenfield architecture decisions including service design, infrastructure, and technology stack

• Apply strong security practices across application, network, and infrastructure layers (OWASP, SAST/DAST, etc.)

• Partner cross-functionally with product teams to refine features and measure business impact

• Improve SDLC processes including testing, performance, and developer experience while fostering team collaboration

Requirements of the Senior Software Engineer:

• 5+ years of full stack software engineering experience with production-level ownership

• Proficiency with React, Node.js, Postgres, and AWS

• Hands-on experience leveraging AI tools (e.g., Claude or similar) in daily development workflows

• Strong experience with system design, distributed systems, and live coding environments

• Ability to work remotely (EST preferred) with occasional travel for team collaboration

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering, or related technical field

Compensation for the Senior Software Engineer:

• $160,000–$180,000, based on experience
