Network Engineer (IT Automation)

Piper Companies is seeking a Network Engineer (IT Automation) to support a pharmaceutical manufacturing site expansion in Clayton, NC. The Network Engineer (IT Automation) role is ideal for a hands-on professional with strong networking fundamentals and experience supporting production or operational technology environments. The Network Engineer (IT Automation) requires you to work onsite 5 days per week in Clayton, NC and is a long term contract opportunity.

Responsibilities of the Network Engineer (IT Automation):

• Provide Tier 1 support for network infrastructure devices and services
• Troubleshoot switches, routers, firewalls, and network systems
• Support production line startup and ongoing operations
• Assist with IDF deployment, cabling, and physical infrastructure
• Maintain network diagrams and documentation using Visio
• Monitor systems and support network management tools
• Assist with infrastructure project implementation and compliance

Requirements of the Network Engineer (IT Automation):

• Bachelor’s degree with 5+ years of experience or 10+ years direct experience
• Strong networking fundamentals and infrastructure knowledge
• Experience with 500+ client environments preferred
• CCNA or CCNP preferred
• Experience troubleshooting network devices and systems
• Exposure to manufacturing or OT environments preferred
• Knowledge of network security and documentation best practices

Compensation for the Network Engineer (IT Automation):

• $125,000 - $165,000 based on experience
