Network Engineer

Piper Companies is hiring a Network Engineer for a pharmaceutical and healthcare company that makes treatments for diabetes and chronic conditions located in Clayton, NC. The Network Engineer will provide Tier 1 IT network support for a large-scale facility expansion report. The Network Engineer will work onsite five days a week in Clayton, NC in a one-year contract role.

Responsibilities of the Network Engineer:

·      Troubleshoot and resolve issues with network devices and infrastructure systems

·      Ensure network security and compliance with internal policies and industry regulations

·      Manage and maintain network systems, including updates and lifecycle improvements

·      Implement and support IT network projects, including setup, testing, and deployment

·      Create and maintain accurate network documentation and coordinate with IT teams 

Requirements of the Network Engineer:

·      5+ years of related experience

·      Bachelor’s degree

·      Strong foundation in networking

·      Experience in manufacturing or operational technology (OT) environments with ability to troubleshoot infrastructure issues

·      Knowledge of network setup, cabling, and documentation, including diagrams and system layouts

·      Networking certifications (e.g., CCNA, CCNP) are a plus 

Compensation for the Network Engineer:

·      $140,000 - $165,000 at an hourly pay rate
