Senior Business Analyst, Datacenter Network & Interconnection

Piper Companies is seeking a Senior Business Analyst, Datacenter Network & Interconnection to support a leading organization in the global internet infrastructure industry. The Senior Business Analyst, Datacenter Network & Interconnection role is ideal for an experienced professional with deep expertise in datacenter infrastructure, network engineering, and interconnection strategy, who can bridge technical and business functions to scale a global footprint.

Responsibilities of the Senior Business Analyst, Datacenter Network & Interconnection:

• Evaluate global network architecture, including IP transit, peering relationships, and dark fiber assets to optimize performance and scalability.

• Analyze datacenter utilization trends to support capacity planning and forecast interconnection requirements.

• Review vendor agreements across cross-connects, transport, and network services to identify cost optimization opportunities.

• Lead cross-functional initiatives to deploy new network infrastructure and interconnection platforms from initiation through delivery.

• Translate complex technical network designs into business requirements, user stories, and execution roadmaps.

• Identify risks, manage dependencies, and coordinate technical change management windows to minimize service disruption.

• Develop and track KPIs related to network performance, utilization, and cost efficiency.

• Create automated dashboards and visualizations using Power BI or Tableau to communicate insights to stakeholders.

• Conduct financial analysis supporting CapEx and OpEx investments with data-driven recommendations.

Qualifications of the Senior Business Analyst, Datacenter Network & Interconnection:

• 7+ years of Business Analyst or Technical Project Management experience within datacenter, telecom, or internet infrastructure environments.

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Network Engineering, Management Information Systems (MIS), or a related technical field.

• Strong understanding of OSI layers, BGP routing, peering protocols, MPLS, DWDM, and cross-connect architecture.

• Advanced proficiency in SQL for data analysis, along with experience in Python, R, or advanced Excel for modeling.

• Hands-on experience with Agile or Hybrid project methodologies using tools such as Jira, Confluence, or Microsoft Project.

• Proven ability to translate complex technical concepts into business language for executive stakeholders.

• Experience working with global telecom carriers and internet exchange (IX) operators, including vendor negotiation.

• Preferred certifications include PMP, Certified Scrum Master (CSM), CCNA, or CCNP.

Compensation for the Senior Business Analyst, Datacenter Network & Interconnection includes:

• Salary range: $100,000 - $140,000

• Comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, vision, 401(k), and PTO
