Senior Software Engineer

Piper Companies is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join a rapidly growing, mission-driven technology organization within the healthcare services space. The Senior Software Engineer will play a key role in building a scalable, modern platform that supports care delivery for underserved populations while helping the company expand its engineering capabilities.

Responsibilities of the Senior Software Engineer:

• Architect and develop full stack applications and platform services using modern frameworks, ensuring scalability, reliability, and strong performance across systems
• Build and optimize cloud-based solutions while contributing to infrastructure design, deployments, and continuous integration pipelines
• Leverage AI-driven development tools (such as Claude or similar) to improve coding efficiency, automate workflows, and enhance overall development velocity
• Collaborate closely with product and cross-functional teams to deliver features from concept through production, maintaining strong ownership throughout the software lifecycle
• Contribute to system design discussions, mentor team members, and help establish engineering best practices in a fast-paced startup environment

Qualifications of the Senior Software Engineer:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering, or a closely related technical discipline
• 5+ years of full stack development experience (preference for candidates closer to 10 years) with strong proficiency in React, Node.js, PostgreSQL, and AWS
• Demonstrated experience using AI tools in daily development workflows to enhance productivity and code quality
• Proven ability to design and implement distributed systems, including participating in live coding exercises and architecture discussions
• Background working in both startup and established environments, with experience contributing to multiple organizations and shipping production-ready solutions

Compensation for the Senior Software Engineer:

•   Salary Range: $170,000 - $180,000 + bonus dependent on experience.
