Piper Companies is hiring an Infrastructure Automation Engineer for an award-winning company located in the Raleigh-Durham Area. The Infrastructure Automation Engineer will help lead our synthetic monitoring, observability, and reliability initiatives while improving efficiency through automation. The Infrastructure Automation Engineer role requires 3 days on site in Durham, NC.
Responsibilities of the Infrastructure Automation Engineer:
- Design and maintain monitoring for critical applications, services, and APIs to ensure system reliability.
- Build dashboards, alerts, and telemetry to strengthen observability and improve visibility across environments.
- Automate operational tasks using Python, PowerShell, or similar scripting languages to increase efficiency and reduce manual work.
- Develop and maintain Infrastructure‑as‑Code for cloud and infrastructure resources using Terraform and AWS native tools.
Requirements of the Infrastructure Automation Engineer:
- 5+ years of professional infrastructure automation engineer experience
- A bachelor’s degree is required, ideally in a technical discipline.
- Ability to work on site three days per week at the Durham, NC headquarters.
- Strong hands‑on experience with AWS services including Lambda, S3, CloudFormation, and related cloud components.
- Proficiency with Terraform, Python, and automation scripting for infrastructure and operational workflows.
Compensation for the Infrastructure Automation Engineer:
- $120,000-$155,000
- Full Comprehensive Benefits: Health, Vision, Dental, PTO, Paid Holiday and Sick Leave if Required by Law
