Piper Companies is seeking a Director of Network Planning to lead strategic initiatives across a forward-thinking telecommunications organization. The Director of Network Planning will play a critical role in bridging highly technical network strategy with executive leadership, driving innovation across AI/LLM integration, observability, and large-scale network optimization.
Responsibilities of the Director of Network Planning:
• Lead network planning strategy, aligning infrastructure initiatives with business goals and long-term growth.
• Drive implementation of AI/LLM solutions to enhance network performance, automation, and decision-making.
• Translate complex technical concepts into clear, executive-level insights and recommendations.
• Oversee observability strategies, ensuring full visibility into network performance, reliability, and risk.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with engineering, finance, and executive leadership teams.
• Manage cost modeling, budgeting, and financial risk analysis related to network investments.
• Build and maintain high-level dashboards to track KPIs, performance metrics, and operational health.
• Lead, mentor, and delegate to management-level staff, ensuring efficient execution of projects and priorities.
• Promote best practices in time management, task delegation, and leadership development across teams.
Qualifications of the Director of Network Planning:
• 8+ years of experience in telecommunications or network planning roles.
• Proven leadership experience managing teams and cross-functional initiatives.
• Hands-on technical background in networking, infrastructure planning, and observability.
• Experience implementing or working with AI/LLM technologies in enterprise environments.
• Strong ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders and executive leadership.
• Demonstrated experience managing network costs, budgeting, and risk mitigation strategies.
• Expertise in building dashboards and analyzing performance metrics.
• Strong organizational, delegation, and time management skills.
Compensation for the Director of Network Planning includes:
• Salary range: $180,000 - $200,000
