Job Summary:
Piper Companies is seeking a Laboratory Technician to support a biopharmaceutical manufacturing organization focused on bioassay testing and cell culture operations. This position is onsite in Baltimore, MD.
Responsibilities for the Laboratory Technician include:
- Prepare cell culture media including Iscove’s complete media, Bioassay media, and 0.1% Trypan Blue.
- Thaw, culture, maintain, document, and cryopreserve cell lines in compliance with GMP standards.
- Perform Cellular Response Assays and assist with bioassays and Fetal Bovine Serum evaluations.
- Conduct statistical analysis and review of bioassay results.
- Monitor, maintain, clean, and troubleshoot laboratory equipment and facilities per SOPs.
- Maintain GMP documentation, draft SOPs and reports, and support laboratory record archival.
- Assist with inventory management, ordering supplies, cycle counts, and laboratory stocking.
Required Qualifications for the Laboratory Technician include:
- Associate degree with 2+ years of related experience, or bachelor's degree with 0–2 years of related experience.
- Knowledge of laboratory practices, cell culture techniques, or biological assay environments.
- Understanding or ability to develop proficiency in GMP and SOP requirements.
- Strong documentation, organization, and recordkeeping skills.
- Ability to work in a regulated laboratory environment and complete required safety training.
- Proficiency with data analysis, laboratory documentation, and inventory management.
- Ability to work rotating weekends, evenings, and holidays as needed.
Compensation for the Laboratory Technician includes:
- Salary Range: Competitive based on experience.
