Piper Companies is looking to hire an onsite Cable Product Engineer near Valley Green, PA. The Cable Product Engineer role serves a leading electronic interconnect and connectivity manufacturing organization that develops high-performance cable, connector, and fiber optic solutions for communications, aerospace, defense, transportation, and industrial markets.
Responsibilities of the Cable Product Engineer:
- Serve as the technical owner and subject matter expert for Twin-Ax cable assemblies, ensuring product quality, reliability, and mechanical integrity.
- Lead product development activities including design reviews, prototype builds, validation testing, qualification, and NPI/Phase Gate processes.
- Perform tolerance analysis, material evaluations, FEA studies, root-cause investigations, and failure analysis to support product performance.
- Collaborate with manufacturing, signal integrity, quality, and supplier teams to optimize processes and support high-volume production globally.
- Analyze performance and test data to drive continuous improvement, cost reduction, and customer-focused technical solutions.
Qualifications of the Cable Product Engineer:
- 3-5+ years of experience in interconnects, high-speed cables, or electronic product design for manufacturing.
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
- Proficiency with CAD tools such as Creo/Pro-E, FEA software, GD&T, and mechanical design methodologies.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with experience using Excel, Minitab, Matlab/Octave, or similar engineering tools.
- Experience supporting product validation, manufacturing operations, supplier collaboration, and cross-functional engineering teams; familiarity with cable materials and high-speed connectivity products is preferred.
Compensation for the Cable Product Engineer includes:
Base salary range: $80,000 - $110,000
