Piper Companies is looking to fill the role of Software Engineer for a Cloud and Technology company located in Morrisville, NC. The Software Engineer will support, monitor, and maintain cloud-hosted applications, services, and infrastructure in production and non-production environments. The Software Engineer role is a hybrid position located in Morrisville, NC.
Responsibilities of the Software Engineer Include:
- Support, monitor, and maintain cloud-hosted applications, services, and infrastructure across production and non-production environments
- Develop and maintain Python-based applications, APIs, automation scripts, and operational tools
- Implement infrastructure automation and configuration management solutions using Ansible
- Troubleshoot application, infrastructure, and deployment issues, performing root cause analysis and implementing fixes
- Contribute across the full Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), including design, development, testing, deployment, and ongoing optimization
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams while supporting CI/CD pipelines, system upgrades, security compliance, documentation, and Agile processes
Qualifications for the Software Engineer Include:
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or a related technical field, with 3+ years of professional software engineering experience
- Strong proficiency in Python, including object-oriented programming and scripting
- Hands-on experience with Ansible for infrastructure automation and configuration management
- Experience working with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform (GCP), along with knowledge of Linux/Unix systems and system administration concepts
- Solid understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), version control systems (e.g., Git), software testing methodologies, and debugging techniques
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and release management practices, paired with strong analytical, problem-solving, troubleshooting, and communication skills
Compensation for the Software Engineer include:
- $80,000-$85,000
- Benefits: Medical, Dental, Vision, 401k, PTO, Sick leave if required by law, and Holidays
