Python Developer - Entry Level

Piper Companies is seeking a Python Developer to join a growing technology-focused organization in the Raleigh-Durham area. The Python Developer role is ideal for an early-career software engineer with strong Python fundamentals, hands-on automation experience, and a track record of impactful internships and personal development projects. This position offers the opportunity to work alongside experienced engineers while contributing to automation initiatives and software development efforts in a collaborative environment.

Responsibilities of the Python Developer:

• Develop, test, and maintain Python-based applications and automation solutions.

• Create scripts and tools to streamline operational and business processes.

• Collaborate with senior developers and cross-functional teams on software development projects.

• Troubleshoot, debug, and optimize existing applications and automation workflows.

• Participate in code reviews and follow software development best practices.

• Contribute to documentation and knowledge-sharing initiatives within the engineering team.

Qualifications of the Python Developer:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.

• 0-2 years of professional experience, including internship experience focused on software development or automation.

• Strong proficiency with Python and object-oriented programming concepts.

• Demonstrated personal projects involving Python development, scripting, automation, APIs, or related technologies.

• Experience with version control tools such as Git.

• Familiarity with Linux environments and basic cloud concepts is preferred.

• Exposure to Ansible or other infrastructure automation tools is a plus.

• Strong communication skills and eagerness to learn in a team-oriented environment.

Compensation for the Python Developer includes:

• Salary range: $75,000 - $85,000 depending on experience

• Comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, vision, 401(k), and PTO

• Hybrid work schedule with 1 day per week onsite in Durham, NC
