Piper Companies is seeking a Common Criteria Security Engineer to join a long-term consulting engagement supporting cybersecurity product certification and security assurance initiatives. This fully remote Common Criteria Security Engineer role offers the opportunity to collaborate with engineering and security teams to guide products through the European Common Criteria certification process while contributing to secure product development and regulatory readiness.
Responsibilities
- Partner with development, product, and security stakeholders to integrate Common Criteria requirements into system architecture and product design activities.
- Create, organize, and maintain certification documentation, including Security Targets, technical evidence packages, and supporting compliance materials.
- Evaluate security controls, product functionality, and technical specifications to ensure alignment with certification and assurance objectives.
- Perform threat modeling exercises, security assessments, and remediation planning to address risks identified during evaluation efforts.
- Coordinate with accredited testing laboratories and internal teams throughout certification, surveillance, maintenance, and recertification programs.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Engineering, Information Systems, or a closely related technical discipline.
- 3+ years of professional experience in security engineering, software development, systems engineering, product security, or a similar technical environment.
- Strong understanding of secure software development practices, security-by-design principles, and modern security architecture concepts.
- Experience in one or more of the following domains: Identity & Access Management (IAM), operating systems, network security, cloud security, cryptography, or embedded technologies.
- Excellent communication and technical writing skills with the ability to translate complex certification requirements into actionable engineering deliverables.
Compensation
- Salary Range: $90,000 - $150,000
- 20 Days PTO + 11 Paid Holidays
