Senior Solutions Architect

Zachary Piper Solutions is seeking a Senior Solutions Architect to support a growing technology services organization. The Senior Solutions Architect will serve as a key technical pre-sales leader responsible for identifying, qualifying, & developing customer opportunities across Hybrid Cloud Infrastructure, Networking & Connected Experiences, Cybersecurity, Data & AI, Autonomous Operations & Intelligence, and Enterprise Service Management. The Senior Solutions Architect will focus on solution architecture, technical strategy, customer engagement, and modernization initiatives with an emphasis on Platform Engineering, DevOps, DevSecOps, cloud-native technologies, automation, observability, infrastructure-as-code, and enterprise transformation. This role will partner closely with Client Directors, engineering teams, vendors, and customers to design innovative solutions that improve operational resilience, accelerate modernization, and drive business outcomes.

Responsibilities of the Senior Solutions Architect include:

• Lead technical discovery sessions with customers to understand business challenges, technical requirements, operational needs, and desired outcomes

• Serve as a trusted technical advisor during pre-sales engagements by translating complex technical concepts into clear business solutions for both technical and executive stakeholders

• Design and develop innovative solutions leveraging the portfolio across cloud infrastructure, cybersecurity, automation, networking, data, AI, and platform engineering capabilities

• Support sales teams by providing technical expertise, architecture guidance, product recommendations, and integration strategies throughout the opportunity lifecycle

• Develop technical proposals, SOWs, BOMs, & service estimates aligned with customer requirements and implementation objectives

• Collaborate with vendors, engineering teams, and delivery organizations to validate solutions, define implementation approaches, and ensure successful customer outcomes

• Design and position managed services solutions that align with customer operational requirements and long-term technology strategies

• Participate in customer project kickoffs and maintain technical engagement throughout delivery to ensure alignment with business goals and expected outcomes

• Define success metrics, evaluate implementation results, and identify opportunities to improve customer satisfaction and business impact

• Provide technical thought leadership on emerging technologies, cloud-native architectures, automation, observability, and autonomous operations capabilities

• Recommend platform engineering strategies, developer experience improvements, and orchestration approaches based on customer maturity and business objectives

• Educate customers on security, governance, compliance, and operational best practices within modern technology environments

• Represent as a technical subject matter expert through customer workshops, webinars, industry events, and partner engagements

• Build strong relationships across customer organizations, internal engineering teams, and technology partners to accelerate growth and deliver successful outcomes

• Identify opportunities for expanding customer engagements through additional services, modernization initiatives, and emerging technology solutions

• Provide mentorship, technical guidance, and knowledge sharing to engineering teams and internal communities of practice

• Support continuous improvement initiatives by identifying process enhancements, technical skill gaps, and opportunities for innovation across the organization

Qualifications of the Senior Solutions Architect include:

• 8+ years of experience in solution architecture, technical consulting, enterprise architecture, or pre-sales engineering within technology services environments

• Demonstrated experience designing and delivering complex technology solutions from initial discovery through implementation and operational support

• Strong background in Platform Engineering disciplines including DevOps, DevSecOps, cloud-native application deployment, automation, and infrastructure modernization

• Experience supporting customer-facing technical engagements, executive briefings, architecture discussions, and strategic technology initiatives

• Strong understanding of cloud platforms including AWS, Azure, and/or Google Cloud Platform (GCP)

• Experience designing cloud-native architectures and modern application deployment patterns

• Hands-on knowledge of Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) tools and practices including Terraform, CloudFormation, or similar technologies

• Experience with GitOps methodologies, automation frameworks, and modern software delivery practices

• Strong understanding of Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) pipelines and DevOps engineering principles

• Experience with observability platforms, monitoring strategies, and operational intelligence solutions such as Dynatrace or similar technologies

• Knowledge of application security principles, DevSecOps practices, and security governance frameworks

• Experience with API management, API security, and integration architectures

• Understanding of service mesh technologies and distributed application architectures

• Ability to apply product-oriented thinking to technical solutions with a focus on user experience, scalability, and continuous improvement

• Strong communication skills with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to engineers, executives, and business stakeholders

• Proven ability to build trusted relationships with customers, partners, and internal teams in a fast-paced consulting environment

• Strategic mindset with strong problem-solving, analytical, and organizational skills

• Relevant certifications in cloud platforms, cloud-native technologies, DevOps, observability, security, or FinOps preferred
