Jr. Network Engineer

Piper Companies is seeking a Jr. Network Engineer for a leading cybersecurity and technology organization in the Raleigh-Durham, North Carolina area. The Jr. Network Engineer role is a remote position supporting EST hours. The Jr. Network Engineer will support compliance driven work supporting European clients, with a strong focus on Common Criteria compliance. An ideal candidate for the Jr. Network Engineer role is an early-career engineer with experience in networking, security best practices, and regulated environments.

Responsibilities of the Jr. Network Engineer:

• Support and maintain enterprise network infrastructure including routers, switches, firewalls, and VPN technologies.

• Assist with Common Criteria-related activities, including security documentation, testing support, and compliance requirements.

• Troubleshoot network performance, connectivity, and security issues for European client environments.

• Collaborate with engineering and security teams to implement secure network solutions and infrastructure improvements.

• Monitor network health and participate in incident response and remediation activities.

Qualifications of the Jr. Network Engineer:

• 1-3 years of network engineering, network administration, or IT infrastructure experience.

• Basic understanding of Common Criteria, security compliance frameworks, or regulated technology environments.

• Strong written communication skills for documentation

• Experience with TCP/IP, routing and switching, firewalls, VPNs, and network troubleshooting.

• Familiarity with Cisco networking technologies and network monitoring tools.

• Strong communication skills and ability to support clients across multiple European regions and time zones.

Compensation for the Jr. Network Engineer includes:

• Salary range: $95,000 - $120,000 depending on experience
