Certification Security Engineer

Piper Companies is seeking a Certification Security Engineer for a leading cybersecurity and technology organization in the Raleigh-Durham, North Carolina area. The Certification Security Engineer role is a remote position working EST hours. The Certification Security Engineer will lead and support security certification efforts for products and solutions serving European clients, with a focus on Common Criteria, regulatory compliance, and security assurance activities. An ideal candidate for the Certification Security Engineer role is an experienced cybersecurity professional with expertise in certification frameworks, technical documentation, and secure product development.

Responsibilities of the Certification Security Engineer:

• Lead Common Criteria certification projects, including planning, testing support, evidence collection, and certification submissions.

• Collaborate with engineering and product teams to ensure solutions meet security and compliance requirements.

• Develop and maintain certification documentation, security targets, and technical reports.

• Coordinate with external laboratories, certification bodies, and customer stakeholders throughout evaluation processes.

• Assess product security controls and provide recommendations to support certification readiness.

Qualifications of the Certification Security Engineer:

• 0-3 years of experience in cybersecurity, networking, security engineering, certification, or compliance-focused roles.

• Hands-on experience with Common Criteria, NIAP, FIPS 140-3, or comparable security certification frameworks.

• Understanding of secure development practices, risk management, and security controls.

• Experience creating technical documentation and working with cross-functional engineering teams.

• Excellent communication and project management skills supporting international customers and stakeholders.

Compensation for the Certification Security Engineer includes:

• Salary range: $95,000 – $120,000 depending on experience
