Jr. Cloud Engineer

Piper Companies is seeking a Jr. Cloud Engineer for a growing technology organization in the Raleigh, North Carolina area. The Jr. Cloud Engineer role is a hybrid position requiring to be onsite 1 day a week. The Jr. Cloud Engineer will support the design, implementation, and maintenance of cloud-based infrastructure and services across modern cloud environments. An ideal candidate for the Jr. Cloud Engineer role is an early-career cloud professional with foundational cloud knowledge, strong troubleshooting skills, and a passion for learning emerging technologies.

Responsibilities of the Jr. Cloud Engineer:

• Support the deployment, monitoring, and maintenance of cloud infrastructure in AWS, Azure, or GCP environments.

• Assist with cloud migrations, system upgrades, and infrastructure automation initiatives.

• Monitor cloud performance and troubleshoot infrastructure, networking, and application issues.

• Collaborate with engineering and operations teams to implement cloud best practices and security standards.

• Document cloud configurations, processes, and operational procedures.

Qualifications of the Jr. Cloud Engineer:

• Strong internship or 1-2 years of professional experience

• Foundational knowledge of AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform services.

• Experience with scripting or automation using Python

• Understanding of tools such as Ansible, Kubernetes, etc

• Strong problem-solving, communication, and teamwork skills.

Compensation for the Jr. Cloud Engineer includes:

• Salary range: $60,000 – $95,000 depending on experience

• Comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, vision, 401(k), PTO, Sick Leave as required by law
