Piper Companies is hiring an Insurance Quality Analyst for a leading technology-driven insurance organization located in Durham, NC. The Insurance Quality Analyst will be responsible for ensuring the quality, accuracy, and compliance of life insurance software applications through comprehensive functional, regression, integration, and API testing. The Insurance Quality Analyst will work closely with business analysts, product owners, developers, and offshore teams to support high-quality software releases. The Insurance Quality Analyst is a hybrid position requiring onsite work 3 days per week in Durham, NC.
Responsibilities of the Insurance Quality Analyst:
• Design, execute, and maintain functional, regression, integration, and user acceptance test cases for insurance applications
• Perform API testing using tools such as Postman or SoapUI to validate endpoints, data accuracy, and system integrations
• Identify, document, and track software defects through JIRA while partnering with development teams to resolve issues
• Validate policy data, premium calculations, withdrawal calculations, and other business-critical insurance data
• Support UAT efforts by providing test results, issue tracking, and stakeholder assistance throughout the testing lifecycle
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure software solutions meet business, regulatory, and quality requirements
Requirements of the Insurance Quality Analyst:
• 6+ years of experience as a Quality Assurance Analyst
• Experience testing Life Insurance and/or Annuity platforms and products
• Strong knowledge of software testing methodologies, test case development, defect management, and Agile/Scrum environments
• Experience with API testing tools such as Postman or SoapUI and familiarity with JIRA
• Basic SQL knowledge for data validation and integrity testing; experience with platforms such as FAST, Vitech, OIPA, ALIP, Cyberlife, WMA, or similar systems preferred
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience
Compensation for the Insurance Quality Analyst:
• $100,000 - $125,000, based on experience
