Certification Network Security Engineer

Piper Companies is looking to fill the role of Common Criteria Security Engineer for a Cloud and Technology company located in Morrisville, NC. The Common Criteria Security Engineer role is ideal for an engineer who understands secure product development and wants to work directly with development teams to achieve Common Criteria certification. The Senior Software Engineer is a remote contract position located on the East Coast.

Responsibilities of the Common Criteria Security Engineer Include:

• Collaborated with engineering teams to design, develop, and enhance products in alignment with Common Criteria certification requirements.
• Supported Common Criteria certification initiatives by developing Security Targets (STs) and coordinating the collection of technical evidence and documentation.
• Evaluated product architectures, security controls, and technical documentation to ensure certification readiness and compliance objectives were met.
• Translated certification requirements into actionable engineering deliverables, product specifications, and development tasks.
• Conducted threat modeling, security design reviews, vulnerability assessments, and supported remediation efforts for findings identified during evaluations.
• Partnered with Common Criteria testing laboratories, product managers, and security teams to support certification, maintenance, recertification activities, and secure development lifecycle (SDLC) best practices.

Qualifications for the Common Criteria Security Engineer Include:

• Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related technical field.
• Experience supporting Common Criteria certification efforts, including Security Target (ST) development, technical evidence collection, and compliance documentation.
• Strong understanding of product security architectures, security controls, and technical documentation review processes for certification and security readiness.
• Knowledge of threat modeling, security design reviews, vulnerability assessments, and remediation practices within secure development environments.
• Ability to translate security and certification requirements into clear product requirements, engineering tasks, and technical solutions.
• Proven experience collaborating with cross-functional teams, including engineering, product management, security teams, and third-party evaluation laboratories to support certification, maintenance, and recertification activities.

Compensation for the Common Criteria Security Engineer include:

• $95,000-$120,000
• Contract
