Jr. DevOps Engineer

Piper Companies is hiring a Jr. DevOps Engineer for a Cloud and Technology company located in Morrisville, NC. The Jr. DevOps Engineer will support cloud infrastructure, automation, and deployment initiatives while partnering with engineering teams to maintain and improve enterprise cloud environments. The Jr. DevOps Engineer role is a onsite position located in Morrisville, NC.

Responsibilities of the Jr. DevOps Engineer Include:

•  Support and maintain cloud infrastructure and platform services across AWS, Azure, and other cloud environments.
• Develop, implement, and maintain automation solutions, Infrastructure as Code (IaC), and deployment processes.
• Assist in managing containerized applications and virtualized environments using Docker, Kubernetes, and virtual machine technologies.
• Support and enhance CI/CD pipelines and software delivery processes utilizing GitHub, Jenkins, and other automation tools.
• Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize Linux-based and cloud-hosted systems to ensure high availability, security, and performance.
• Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams in Agile environments to support application development, testing, deployment, and operational activities.
• Contribute to system reliability, scalability, and continuous improvement initiatives through automation and operational best practices.

Qualifications of the Jr. DevOps Engineer include:

•  0-2 years of professional experience in software engineering, cloud technologies, DevOps, or a related field, or recent graduates with relevant internship experience, hands-on projects, and an active GitHub portfolio.
• Proficiency in Python development with a strong understanding of automation, scripting, and software development best practices.
• Knowledge of cloud computing platforms such as AWS, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud Platform gained through professional experience, coursework, certifications, internships, or personal projects.
• Familiarity with Linux operating systems, CI/CD methodologies, containerization technologies, Docker, Kubernetes, and infrastructure automation concepts.
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform, Ansible, or similar technologies is preferred.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills with the ability to learn new technologies quickly.
• Bachelor's degree in computer science required; candidates with degrees in Computer Engineering, Mathematics, Information Technology, or related technical disciplines may be considered based on relevant experience and qualifications.

Compensation for the Jr. DevOps Engineer include:

• $65,000-$80,000
