Senior Software Engineer in Test (SDET)

Piper Companies is hiring a Senior Software Engineer in Test (SDET) for a leading technology organization located in RTP, NC. The Senior Software Engineer in Test (SDET) will lead quality strategy, test automation, and validation efforts for a platform that provides real-time visibility into certification programs, project milestones, deliverables, risks, and program progress. The Senior Software Engineer in Test (SDET) is a long-term contract opportunity supporting enterprise software development and quality engineering initiatives.

Responsibilities of the Senior Software Engineer in Test (SDET):

• Design and implement the overall test strategy for a complex program management platform

• Develop and maintain automated test frameworks for web applications, APIs, backend services, and data pipelines

• Build automated regression, integration, functional, and end-to-end test suites to ensure application quality and reliability

• Validate integrations with tools such as Jira, Azure DevOps, SharePoint, Confluence, GitHub, and other enterprise platforms

• Partner with engineering teams to establish quality gates within CI/CD pipelines and improve release confidence

Requirements of the Senior Software Engineer in Test (SDET):

• 5+ years of experience in Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET), software testing, or quality engineering roles

• Proven experience creating and implementing a test automation framework from scratch

• Strong programming experience with Python, JavaScript, and/or TypeScript

• Experience developing automated testing frameworks and testing enterprise web applications, APIs, and distributed systems

• Strong understanding of CI/CD tools, Agile methodologies, and DevOps practices

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field

Compensation for the Senior Software Engineer in Test (SDET):

• $110,000 - $130,000 annually equivalent, based on experience
