Jr. DevOps Engineer

Piper Companies is hiring a Jr. DevOps Engineer for a leading technology organization located in RTP, NC. The Jr. DevOps Engineer will support cloud infrastructure, automation, and deployment initiatives while partnering with engineering teams to maintain and improve enterprise cloud environments. The Jr. DevOps Engineer is a long-term contract opportunity requiring onsite support in RTP, NC at least one day per week (Thursdays), with flexibility for additional onsite collaboration as needed.

Responsibilities of the Jr. DevOps Engineer:

• Support cloud infrastructure and platform operations across AWS, Azure, and related cloud environments

• Develop and maintain automation scripts, infrastructure as code solutions, and deployment workflows

• Assist with containerized environments utilizing Docker, Kubernetes, and virtual machine technologies

• Support CI/CD pipelines and development workflows using tools such as GitHub, Jenkins, and related automation platforms

• Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize Linux and cloud-based systems to ensure performance, reliability, and security

• Collaborate with engineering teams in Agile environments to support development, testing, and deployment activities

Requirements of the Jr. DevOps Engineer:

• 0-2 years of professional experience, or recent graduate with strong internship experience, personal projects, and an active GitHub portfolio

• Strong Python development experience and understanding of automation principles

• Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud through professional, academic, certification, or personal project experience

• Familiarity with Linux operating systems, CI/CD tools, containers, Docker, Kubernetes, and infrastructure automation concepts

• Experience with Ansible, Terraform, or other Infrastructure as Code technologies is preferred

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science required; Computer Engineering, Mathematics, or related technical disciplines may be considered based on relevant experience

Compensation for the Jr. DevOps Engineer:

• $65,000-$80,000 annually, based on experience
