XSOAR Automation/AI Specialist

Piper Companies is seeking an XSOAR Automation/AI Specialist to support a highly technical and regulated cybersecurity environment. The XSOAR Automation/AI Specialist will serve as the team's EDR Subject Matter Expert (SME) while contributing to SOAR, SIEM, and endpoint detection and response initiatives. This is an individual contributor role working alongside a team of cybersecurity professionals and directly supporting clients in a consulting capacity.

Responsibilities of the XSOAR Automation/AI Specialist include:

• Serve as the primary EDR Subject Matter Expert supporting implementation, configuration, optimization, and troubleshooting
• Design, develop, and maintain security automation and orchestration workflows using Palo Alto Cortex XSOAR
• Develop Python-based automation, integrations, scripts, and security workflows to improve SOC efficiency
• Support SOAR, SIEM, EDR, Security Operations Center (SOC), and Incident Response (IR) initiatives
• Integrate security platforms and technologies to automate detection, investigation, response, and remediation processes
• Configure and optimize EDR solutions to improve endpoint visibility, threat detection, and incident response capabilities
• Work with SIEM platforms including Palo Alto, QRadar, Splunk, and similar technologies
• Develop and maintain integrations between XSOAR and security tools, data sources, APIs, and enterprise platforms
• Apply the MITRE ATT&CK framework to security automation, detection, and incident response workflows
• Troubleshoot complex technical challenges across endpoint, SIEM, SOAR, and security infrastructure environments
• Work directly with clients to understand cybersecurity requirements, identify challenges, and develop technical solutions
• Provide technical guidance and recommendations throughout client engagements
• Collaborate with SOC, incident response, engineering, and security teams to improve operational processes
• Support security assessments, implementations, integrations, and technology modernization initiatives
• Create technical documentation and knowledge transfer materials for security automation and EDR solutions

Qualifications for the XSOAR Automation/AI Specialist include:

• 5+ years of experience in cybersecurity, security engineering, SOC, incident response, or a related technical field
• Strong hands-on experience with EDR implementation, configuration, and troubleshooting
• Experience with Palo Alto Cortex XSOAR or comparable SOAR platforms
• Strong Python development and scripting experience
• Strong Linux administration skills with the ability to work at the command-line level
• Hands-on experience with SIEM platforms such as Palo Alto, QRadar, Splunk, or similar technologies
• Understanding of SOC operations, incident response, threat detection, and security automation
• Experience integrating security platforms through APIs, scripts, and automation
• Strong understanding of the MITRE ATT&CK framework
• Experience working directly with clients in a cybersecurity consulting environment
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills with the ability to work through complex client challenges
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with a larger cybersecurity team

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with Palo Alto Cortex XDR, Cortex XSOAR, or other Palo Alto security platforms
• Experience developing XSOAR playbooks, integrations, incident types, automation scripts, and content packs
• Experience with SIAM or security information and automation management technologies
• Experience with cloud security and enterprise security architectures
• Experience supporting highly regulated or enterprise cybersecurity environments
• Experience with threat hunting, detection engineering, or advanced incident response
• Palo Alto Networks, Splunk, QRadar, or other relevant cybersecurity certifications
• Experience applying AI and machine learning technologies to security automation and SOC operations

Compensation for the XSOAR Automation/AI Specialist includes:

• Salary: $140,000 - $155,000
