Piper Companies is seeking a Principal Forward Deployed AI Engineer to support a data connectivity and integration company for a remote fulltime role. The Principal Forward Deployed AI Engineer will be responsible for leading discovery with customer architects, data leaders, AI teams, and executives.
Responsibilities of the Principal Forward Deployed AI Engineer:
- Run technical discovery workshops with customer architects, data leaders, and AI teams, mapping data sources, MCP Workspace scoping, and agent tooling requirements
- Own the scoping for AI deployments with clear acceptance criteria around agent accuracy, data coverage, and governance
- Translate complex AI + data concepts into executive-ready architecture proposals; defend trade-offs to CxO-level stakeholders
Qualifications of the Principal Forward Deployed AI Engineer:
- 7+ years of experience as a Solutions Architect, Principal Software Engineer, Forward Deployed Engineer, or Tech Lead at a data platform, AI, or SaaS company
- Strong customer facing experience
- Experience w/MCP, RBAC, Oauth, and RAG
Compensation for the Principal Forward Deployed AI Engineer:
- Salary range: $175k-$240k USD per year based on professional experience
