Systems Architect - Electrical Engineer

Piper Companies is looking for a Systems Architect - Electrical Engineer to join a global leader in high‑speed interconnect and cable technologies while providing senior‑level technical leadership to support the design and development of advanced cable backplane solutions. The ideal Systems Architect - Electrical Engineer will work in a hybrid role with travel to Harrisburg, PA.

Responsibilities for the Systems Architect - Electrical Engineer:

• Lead system‑level mechanical design for next‑generation high‑speed cable backplane products, guiding programs from concept through production.
• Act as the primary technical interface with OEM customers, driving engineering discussions, resolving complex issues, and ensuring alignment across teams.
• Develop mechanical specifications, modeling packages, prototypes, and performance requirements that support thermal, structural, and high‑speed signal needs.
• Influence product direction by providing strategic insights, mentoring junior engineers, and collaborating across engineering, manufacturing, and product teams.

Qualifications for the Systems Architect - Electrical Engineer:

• 10+ years of experience as a Electrical Engineer supporting complex electro‑mechanical systems.
• Must be eligible to work in the United States and obtain and maintain an Active U.S. Government Secret Clearance.
• Strong background in mechanical design principles such as tolerance analysis, materials behavior, and CAD modeling (ProE/SolidWorks preferred).
• Experience working with cross‑functional engineering teams and engaging directly with OEM customers.
• Familiarity with high‑speed interconnect requirements including thermal considerations, mechanical alignment, and structural integrity.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to translate technical findings to clients and internal teams.
• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or related technical field (Master’s or Ph.D. preferred).

Compensation/Benefits for the Systems Architect - Electrical Engineer:

• Salary Range: $140,000 – $190,000 depending on experience and location.
