Common Criteria Security Engineer

Piper Companies is hiring a Common Criteria Security Engineer for a leading technology organization supporting European certification initiatives. The Common Criteria Security Engineer will help design, develop, and certify products under the European Common Criteria framework while partnering with engineering teams to ensure security requirements are incorporated throughout the development lifecycle. The Common Criteria Security Engineer is a fully remote contract opportunity. Candidates must be located on the East Coast and able to occasionally support early morning meetings to collaborate with European teams.

Responsibilities of the Common Criteria Security Engineer:

• Work with engineering teams to design products that meet Common Criteria certification requirements

• Support Common Criteria certification efforts, including Security Target development and technical evidence collection

• Review product architectures, security features, and technical documentation for certification readiness

• Translate certification requirements into engineering tasks and product requirements

• Support threat modeling, security design reviews, vulnerability assessments, and remediation efforts

• Collaborate with certification laboratories, product managers, and security teams throughout certification and recertification activities

Requirements of the Common Criteria Security Engineer:

• 3+ years of experience in security engineering, software engineering, systems engineering, or product security

• Strong understanding of secure software development lifecycle (SDLC) practices and security architecture principles

• Experience with one or more of the following: Identity and Access Management (IAM), Network Security, Cloud Security, Cryptography, Operating Systems, or Embedded Systems

• Strong technical documentation, communication, troubleshooting, and analytical skills

• Experience with Common Criteria (ISO/IEC 15408), Security Targets (STs), Protection Profiles (PPs), Evaluation Assurance Levels (EALs), or similar certification programs is preferred

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Engineering, or a related technical field

Compensation for the Common Criteria Security Engineer:

• $95,000 - $120,000 annually, based on experience
