SRE Tech Lead

Piper Companies is seeking an SRE Technical Lead to support a large-scale government-focused technology initiative. The SRE Technical Lead will provide technical leadership for Kubernetes-based infrastructure, Terraform automation, and cloud reliability strategies while mentoring a team of engineers in a highly collaborative remote environment.

Responsibilities of the SRE Technical Lead:

• Lead the design, implementation, and support of Kubernetes-based production environments.

• Develop and maintain Infrastructure as Code solutions utilizing Terraform.

• Establish reliability standards including monitoring, alerting, incident response, and disaster recovery initiatives.

• Collaborate with engineering and architecture teams to improve system scalability, security, and performance.

• Mentor engineers and provide technical guidance on SRE best practices.

• Drive automation efforts to reduce operational overhead and improve platform stability.

Qualifications of the SRE Technical Lead:

• Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a Secret Security Clearance.

• 7+ years of infrastructure, cloud engineering, or Site Reliability Engineering experience.

• Expertise with Kubernetes administration and orchestration.

• Strong hands-on experience with Terraform and Infrastructure as Code methodologies.

• Experience supporting cloud environments within AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.

• Knowledge of observability tools, incident management processes, and system performance tuning.

• Previous leadership or team lead experience.

Compensation for the SRE Technical Lead includes:

• Salary range: $150,000 - $180,000 depending on experience
