Cloud Engagement Architect

Piper Companies is seeking a Cloud Engagement Architect to join a growing technology consulting organization supporting complex cloud and security transformation initiatives. The Cloud Engagement Architect will serve as a trusted technical advisor to clients, developing cloud strategies, designing secure and compliant architectures, and leading cloud engagements from initial planning through implementation.

Responsibilities for the Cloud Engagement Architect Include:

• Lead client-facing cloud architecture and security engagements across AWS, Azure, and GCP environments.
• Develop cloud strategies, vision-state architectures, technical roadmaps, and implementation plans.
• Design secure and compliant enterprise cloud, server, network, and boundary protection architectures.
• Lead greenfield and brownfield cloud architecture and modernization initiatives.
• Design and implement cloud infrastructure utilizing Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) principles.
• Develop and review detailed architecture, design, and security documentation using industry and vendor best practices.
• Partner with compliance teams to design cloud solutions supporting Federal and DoD security requirements.
• Serve as a primary technical advisor and SME, communicating architecture decisions, risks, progress, and recommendations to client stakeholders.
• Ensure technical deliverables meet project scope, quality, schedule, and budget requirements.

Qualifications for the Cloud Engagement Architect Include:

• 6+ years of experience in security systems engineering, architecture, or enterprise infrastructure.
• 5+ years of cloud architecture experience across AWS, Azure, and/or GCP.
• Previous experience working directly with clients within a professional services or technology consulting organization.
• Strong understanding of cloud architecture, security, networking, and Infrastructure-as-Code.
• Experience designing secure cloud environments and balancing security requirements with business and mission objectives.
• Knowledge of Federal and/or DoD cloud security and compliance requirements preferred.
• Strong client-facing communication, technical leadership, problem-solving, and stakeholder-management skills.
• Understanding of Agile, Scrum, Waterfall, and general project delivery methodologies.

Compensation for the Cloud Engagement Architect Includes:

Salary Range: $140,000 - $165,000 annually depending on experience.
