Product Owner - Unsecured Lending

Piper Companies is seeking a Product Manager, Unsecured Lending to join a premier credit union in McLean, VA. This individual will lead growth strategy for the personal loan portfolio, identify new market opportunities, optimize portfolio performance, and drive cross-functional initiatives. This role is hybrid in McLean, VA, 3 days per week.

Responsibilities of the Product Manager, Unsecured Lending:

• Develop and execute growth strategies across personal loan products, customer segments, and distribution channels.
• Analyze market trends, competitors, and portfolio performance to identify new growth opportunities.
• Evaluate new products, pricing strategies, partnerships, and customer acquisition opportunities.
• Define and monitor KPIs related to growth, profitability, acquisition, retention, and customer lifetime value.
• Partner with Credit Risk, Marketing, Product, Operations, Finance, and Technology to optimize lending performance and the customer journey.
• Leverage data and analytics to improve underwriting, conversion rates, portfolio profitability, and lending economics.
• Lead cross-functional strategic initiatives and present recommendations to senior leadership.
• Manage and develop a team of approximately 2–4 direct reports.

Qualifications for the Product Manager, Unsecured Lending:

• 10+ years of experience in consumer lending, personal loans, product management, strategy, or financial services.
• 2+ years of direct people management experience.
• Strong understanding of consumer lending, credit risk, lending economics, portfolio strategy, and customer acquisition/retention.
• Proven experience developing and executing growth strategies within consumer or personal lending.
• Strong analytical skills with experience using data to develop business recommendations and manage KPIs.
• Experience leading complex, cross-functional initiatives and influencing senior stakeholders.
• Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Economics, or related field; Master's degree preferred.
• Excel, SQL, Tableau, or similar analytics experience preferred.

Compensation for the Product Manager, Unsecured Lending includes:

• Salary: $130,000 - $150,000
