Field Service Technician I

Zachary Piper Solutions is seeking a Field Service Technician I to support a leading wireless communications organization focused on delivering mission-critical radio, RF, and communications solutions. This position is on-site at Columbia, MD. The Field Service Technician I will support the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of two-way radio and wireless communications systems across commercial, public safety, and enterprise environments. This is an excellent opportunity for an early-career technician to grow technical expertise while supporting critical communications infrastructure.

Responsibilities for the Field Service Technician I include:

• Install, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain two-way radio and wireless communications equipment.
• Support installation and configuration of radios, antennas, repeaters, dispatch consoles, and related communications systems.
• Assist with programming radio equipment and supporting UHF/VHF and 800/900 MHz communications systems.
• Perform cable installation, equipment mounting, system integration, and basic networking tasks.
• Utilize diagnostic and test equipment to support RF troubleshooting and develop technical expertise through hands-on training.

Required Qualifications for the Field Service Technician I include:

• 3+ years of experience supporting wireless communications, RF systems, electronics, low-voltage installations, telecommunications, military communications, or related technical environments.
• Hands-on experience with two-way radio systems, communications equipment, cabling, antennas, or RF technologies.
• Ability to read and interpret schematics, wiring diagrams, blueprints, and technical documentation.
• High School Diploma, Associate's Degree, Technical Certification, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Compensation for the Field Service Technician I include:

• Salary Range: $57,000-70,000, depending on experience
• Full Benefits Package: PTO, Paid Holidays, Medical, Dental, Vision, 401K, Tuition Reimbursement, Sick Leave as required by law
