Field Service Technician II

Zachary Piper Solutions is seeking a Field Service Technician II to support a leading wireless communications organization focused on delivering mission-critical radio, RF, and communications solutions for commercial and public sector customers. This position is on-site at Chantilly, VA, St. Paul, MN, or Boston, MA. The Field Service Technician II will independently install, troubleshoot, program, repair, and maintain wireless communications systems while serving as a technical resource for customers. This is an opportunity to support critical communications infrastructure that keeps organizations connected and operational.

Responsibilities for the Field Service Technician II include:

• Install, troubleshoot, repair, program, and maintain two-way radio and wireless communications systems.
• Support UHF/VHF and 800/900 MHz radio systems, dispatch consoles, repeaters, base stations, antennas, and related communications equipment.
• Create and modify radio programming codeplugs, including trunking systems and multi-zone configurations.
• Diagnose and resolve RF, networking, audio, and electronic system issues using industry-standard test equipment.
• Provide onsite customer support, technical recommendations, and support regional projects, including occasional overnight travel and on-call responsibilities.

Required Qualifications for the Field Service Technician II include:

• 3+ years of experience supporting, installing, troubleshooting, repairing, or programming two-way radio or wireless communications systems.
• Experience with RF communications, radio programming, wireless infrastructure, data networking, and communications equipment from manufacturers such as Motorola, Kenwood, ICOM, Harris, Vertex, or EF Johnson.
• Strong understanding of RF theory, wireless communications, troubleshooting methodologies, and ability to interpret schematics and technical documentation.
• High School Diploma, Associate Degree, Technical Certification, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Compensation for the Field Service Technician II include:

• Salary Range: $60,000 - $80,000 depending on experience
