Business Intelligence Engineer III

Piper Companies is seeking a Business Intelligence Engineer III to join an established organization within the travel and hospitality industry for a fully remote permanent position. The Business Intelligence Engineer III will serve as the primary liaison between business stakeholders and the data team, designing scalable reporting solutions, developing impactful dashboards, and transforming complex data into actionable business insights using Power BI and advanced data modeling techniques.

Responsibilities for the Business Intelligence Engineer III:

· Design and develop interactive Power BI dashboards, reports, and visualizations that support business decision-making.

· Partner directly with business stakeholders to gather reporting requirements and translate them into technical solutions.

· Create and maintain semantic models, data structures, and datasets that enable consistent self-service analytics.

· Write and optimize SQL queries to support reporting, data analysis, and business intelligence initiatives.

· Identify opportunities to leverage automation, AI, and machine learning concepts to enhance reporting capabilities and operational efficiency.

Qualifications for the Business Intelligence Engineer III:

· 5+ years of experience in Business Intelligence, Analytics, Data Engineering, or a related field.

· Advanced expertise with Power BI, including dashboard development, data modeling, and DAX.

· Strong proficiency with SQL and experience building scalable semantic data models.

· Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with non-technical stakeholders and independently drive projects from requirements gathering through delivery.

· Experience with data modeling, ETL processes, version control tools (Git/GitHub), and familiarity with AI/ML concepts.

Compensation for the Business Intelligence Engineer III:

Salary Range: $120,000 - $140,000/year
