Business Intelligence Engineer

Piper Companies is seeking a Remote Business Intelligence Engineer to join a leading organization within the travel and hospitality industry. The Business Intelligence Engineer will act as the primary partner for business stakeholders, delivering reporting and analytics solutions through Power BI. This individual will work closely with end users to understand business needs, develop intuitive dashboards, and provide actionable insights through strong SQL and semantic modeling expertise.

Responsibilities of the Business Intelligence Engineer:

• Design, develop, and maintain Power BI dashboards, reports, and visual analytics solutions for business stakeholders.
• Gather requirements directly from end users and translate business needs into scalable reporting solutions.
• Build and maintain semantic models that support consistent metrics and self-service reporting capabilities.
• Optimize Power BI performance, administration, and reporting functionality to ensure a seamless user experience.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for reporting requests, dashboard enhancements, and analytics support.

Qualifications of the Business Intelligence Engineer:

• 5+ years of experience in Business Intelligence, Reporting, Analytics, or a related field.
• Expert-level experience developing reports and dashboards within Power BI.
• Strong SQL skills and hands-on experience designing and maintaining semantic data models.
• Proven ability to work independently, prioritize competing requests, and deliver solutions with minimal supervision.
• Familiarity with AI and machine learning concepts and how they can enhance reporting and analytics initiatives.

Compensation for the Business Intelligence Engineer includes:

• Salary range: $120,000 - $140,000 depending on experience
