BI Engineer III

Piper Companies is seeking a BI Engineer III to join a growing client in the technology industry. The BI Engineer III role is fully remote. The BI Engineer III role is ideal for a data professional with deep Power BI expertise, strong business stakeholder engagement skills, and the ability to independently design and deliver scalable reporting solutions from semantic models.

Responsibilities of the BI Engineer III include:

• Partner directly with business stakeholders and end users to gather reporting requirements, define KPIs, and translate business needs into actionable analytics solutions.

• Design, develop, and maintain enterprise-grade Power BI dashboards, reports, and visualizations that drive data-informed decision making.

• Create and optimize semantic models, data models, and reporting frameworks to ensure consistency, scalability, and performance.

• Write and tune complex SQL queries to support reporting, analytics, and data validation initiatives.

• Serve as an independent BI subject matter expert, managing projects from requirements gathering through deployment and user adoption.

Requirements of the BI Engineer III include:

• 5+ years of Business Intelligence, Analytics Engineering, or related experience with advanced Power BI development expertise.

• Strong proficiency with SQL, dimensional modeling, semantic modeling, and enterprise reporting best practices.

• Proven ability to communicate effectively with business stakeholders and independently lead requirements-gathering sessions.

• Experience designing dashboards and reporting solutions from concept through implementation without heavy oversight.

• Familiarity with AI/ML concepts, predictive analytics, or modern analytics technologies and how they integrate with BI environments.

Compensation for the BI Engineer III include:

• $120,000 - $140,000 annually
