Head of Strategic Research Initiatives

Piper Companies is seeking a Head of Strategic Research Initiatives to join an established organization supporting large-scale initiatives within the pharmaceutical, biotechnology, and healthcare industries. This individual will provide leadership across a diverse portfolio of global programs, partnering with senior stakeholders to advance business objectives, drive operational performance, and support long-term organizational growth.

Responsibilities of the Head of Strategic Research Initiatives:

 • Lead a portfolio of complex global initiatives, ensuring alignment with organizational priorities and long-term business objectives.

• Establish strategic frameworks, governance structures, and performance metrics to support program success and organizational effectiveness.

• Partner with executive leadership to identify opportunities for innovation, operational improvement, and sustainable growth.

• Build, mentor, and develop high-performing leadership teams while fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.

Qualifications for the Head of Strategic Research Initiatives:

 • Bachelor's degree in Life Sciences, Healthcare, Business Administration, or a related discipline; advanced degree preferred.

• 15+ years of progressive leadership experience within life sciences, healthcare, pharmaceutical, biotechnology, consulting, or a related industry.

• Proven success leading complex global programs, portfolios, business units, or strategic initiatives within a large-scale organization.

• Demonstrated ability to drive organizational growth, operational excellence, and cross-functional collaboration.

• Experience managing executive-level stakeholder relationships in highly matrixed and fast-paced environments. 

Compensation for the Head of Strategic Research Initiatives:

Salary: $270,000-$330,000/year (USD)
