Piper Companies is seeking an experienced Sr. Systems Engineer to join a global leader in medical technology within their Pharmacy Automation Solutions division. This individual will play a critical role in the development of next-generation healthcare products, driving system architecture and product definition efforts for complex electromechanical solutions.
This opportunity is ideal for engineers who have experience working in new product development environments and enjoy bridging hardware, software, and systems engineering disciplines to bring innovative products from concept through commercialization.
Responsibilities
- Define and develop system architecture for complex electromechanical medical technology products.
- Lead systems engineering efforts throughout the product development lifecycle.
- Translate business, clinical, and technical requirements into robust system-level designs.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including software, electrical, mechanical, quality, and product management.
- Drive requirements definition, system decomposition, and interface management activities.
- Support verification and validation planning to ensure system performance and regulatory compliance.
- Identify technical risks and develop mitigation strategies during product development.
- Contribute to the advancement of innovative pharmacy automation solutions that improve healthcare delivery and patient outcomes.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Biomedical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related STEM discipline.
- Experience working with electromechanical systems.
- Background in new product development (NPD), research & development, or product engineering environments.
- Experience defining or contributing to system architecture for complex products.
- Strong understanding of systems engineering principles and product development methodologies.
- Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience within the medical device, healthcare technology, diagnostics, or regulated product industries.
- Familiarity with requirements management, verification & validation, and systems integration activities.
- Experience supporting products that combine hardware, software, and mechanical components.
- Understanding of regulatory and quality considerations in product development environments.
