Director, Operational Strategy

Piper Companies is seeking a Director, Operational Strategy to join a leading global clinical research and drug development organization for a remote permanent position within the United States. The Director, Operational Strategy will serve as a strategic leader supporting feasibility, clinical operations planning, and study execution across non-oncology programs in both U.S. and European markets, helping optimize operational delivery throughout the clinical development lifecycle.

Responsibilities of the Director, Operational Strategy include:

· Lead operational strategy development for global clinical trials, providing feasibility insights and execution plans that support successful study delivery.

· Partner with clinical operations, business development, and cross-functional stakeholders to evaluate study opportunities, risks, enrollment strategies, and resource requirements.

· Analyze protocol-specific challenges and market conditions to develop data-driven recommendations that improve trial performance and site engagement.

· Support study planning activities across multiple therapeutic areas, ensuring alignment between operational capabilities, timelines, and client expectations.

· Act as a strategic advisor to internal teams by identifying operational efficiencies, process improvements, and opportunities to enhance study execution.

Qualifications for the Director, Operational Strategy include:

· Bachelor's degree in Life Sciences, Clinical Research, Healthcare Administration, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.

· 8+ years of experience in clinical research, feasibility, clinical operations, operational strategy, or related functions within a CRO, pharmaceutical, or biotechnology environment.

· Strong understanding of global clinical trial operations, study startup activities, patient recruitment strategies, and site feasibility assessments.

· Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams and senior leadership on complex clinical development programs.

· Excellent analytical, communication, project management, and stakeholder engagement skills.

Compensation for the Director, Operational Strategy:

Salary Range: $180,000 - $210,000/year (USD), annual on target bonus up to 20%
