Senior Infrastructure Engineer

Piper Companies is seeking a Senior Infrastructure Engineer to join a leading enterprise organization in the technology and infrastructure services industry in Charlotte, NC. The Senior Infrastructure Engineer will serve as the technical leader for ServiceNow Discovery initiatives, driving enterprise-wide CMDB governance, cloud discovery, asset visibility, as well as AI automation efforts. This position influences critical infrastructure strategy while partnering with security, operations, and technology teams across the organization.

Responsibilities of the Senior Infrastructure Engineer:

• Lead the architecture, implementation, and optimization of ServiceNow Discovery to improve enterprise asset and application visibility across global environments.

• Serve as the Tier 3 technical expert for CMDB Discovery, providing advanced troubleshooting, platform ownership, and strategic direction.

• Design and enhance cloud and asset discovery capabilities across AWS, Azure, GCP, and on-premises infrastructure environments.

• Drive AI and automation initiatives, leveraging agentic frameworks, LLM technologies, and intelligent workflows to improve CMDB governance and operational efficiency.

• Partner with infrastructure, security, and technology stakeholders to strengthen data integrity, map system dependencies, and support enterprise-wide governance initiatives.

• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to technical standards, project planning, and long-term discovery strategy.

Qualifications of the Senior Infrastructure Engineer:

• 8+ years of infrastructure engineering, systems engineering, or related enterprise technology experience.

• Extensive hands-on experience with ServiceNow Discovery, including architecture, implementation, configuration, and large-scale enterprise deployments.

• Strong knowledge of cloud platforms including AWS, Azure, and GCP, with experience supporting cloud discovery, integrations, and automation initiatives.

• Experience with AI, machine learning, agentic solutions, LLM platforms, or automation technologies within enterprise environments.

• Solid understanding of CMDB governance, ITIL principles, infrastructure operations, networking protocols, and data integrations.

• Relevant ServiceNow, cloud, or ITIL certifications are preferred.

Compensation for the Senior Infrastructure Engineer:

• Pay rate: $90-$100/hour

• Comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, vision, 401(k), and PTO

• Hybrid work environment with onsite locations in Charlotte, NC

• 12 Month Contract
