Jr. Network Engineer

Piper Companies is looking to fill the role of Jr. Network Engineer for a leading technology company located in Raleigh, NC. The Jr. Network Engineer will have CCNA-level networking knowledge, hands-on experience of troubleshooting IT or network environments, and foundational exposure to Windows, Linux, and cybersecurity concepts. The Jr. Network Engineer role is a hybrid position with 2 days onsite in Raleigh, NC.

Responsibilities of the Jr. Network Engineer Include:

• Support the administration, monitoring, and troubleshooting of enterprise network infrastructure, including routers, switches, wireless networks, firewalls, and VPN technologies.
• Diagnose and resolve LAN/WAN connectivity issues involving TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, routing, switching, and network access controls.
• Collaborate with network, systems, security, and support teams to identify and resolve infrastructure issues across Windows and Linux environments.
• Assist with network upgrades, implementations, migrations, and security initiatives while maintaining accurate technical documentation and network diagrams.
• Participate in incident response, root cause analysis, and ongoing performance monitoring to ensure a secure, stable, and reliable network environment.

Qualifications for the Jr. Network Engineer Include:

• 2+ years of experience in network support, IT infrastructure, NOC, help desk, or systems administration.
• CCNA-level networking knowledge, including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, routing, switching, VPNs, and firewalls.
• Experience supporting Windows and Linux environments with a basic understanding of cybersecurity principles.
• Strong communication skills, proactive attitude, and ability to work effectively within a team-focused culture.
• Ability to work in the U.S. and able to work onsite in RTP, NC, two days per week.
• CCNA, Network+, Security+, or networking experience is a plus.

Compensation for the Jr. Network Engineer Includes:

• $80,000-$110,000 annually
