Solutions Architect

Piper Companies is seeking a Solutions Architect to join a leading organization within the high-speed interconnect and data center infrastructure industry. This is a permanent opportunity supporting enterprise and hyperscale customers across North America. The Solutions Architect will serve as a senior technical advisor, partnering directly with customer engineering leadership teams to develop and deliver complex connectivity and cable backplane solutions for next-generation data center environments.

Responsibilities for the Solutions Architect include:

· Act as the primary technical liaison between customers and internal engineering teams, translating business and technical requirements into solution strategies.

· Build and maintain relationships with engineering leaders at large-scale technology organizations while supporting technical reviews, product discussions, and project planning.

· Provide guidance on data center infrastructure, including rack systems, cabling architectures, connectors, mechanical integration, and deployment considerations.

· Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive product development efforts from concept through production while ensuring alignment with customer expectations.

· Deliver executive-level presentations, technical recommendations, and implementation support to address complex interconnect and system design challenges.

Qualifications for the Solutions Architect include:

· Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related technical discipline.

· 10+ years of experience supporting interconnect, connector, cable, server, networking, storage, or data center technologies.

· Proven customer-facing experience working with hyperscale or strategic technology customers such as AWS, AMD, or similar organizations.

· Strong understanding of server and data center hardware environments including rack architecture, cable management, mechanical systems, and installation processes.

· Working knowledge of Signal Integrity (SI) principles and the impact of mechanical design decisions on system performance.

· Experience serving as a technical consultant and communicator between customers, product teams, and engineering organizations.

· Strong presentation, relationship-building, and problem-solving skills with the ability to interact effectively with both technical and executive stakeholders.

· Willingness to travel up to 50% initially to customer, manufacturing, and deployment sites, with travel decreasing over time.

Compensation for the Solutions Architect:

Salary Range: $170,000-$200,000/year (USD)
