Deployed Support Specialist

Zachary Piper Solutions is seeking a Deployed Support Specialist to support mission-critical military network operations in a highly technical and regulated environment in Carderock, MD. The Deployed Support Specialist will leverage expertise in Cisco routing and switching Active Directory Firewalls, and network security technologies to design, maintain, and optimize enterprise network infrastructure. This role requires an active Secret clearance, strong independent troubleshooting capabilities, and the ideal candidate will ensure reliable, secure, and high-performing network environments while contributing to strategic infrastructure initiatives and modernization efforts.

Location: Carderock, MD

Salary: $55,000-62,400 depending on experience

Active Secret Clearance required

Responsibilities of the Deployed Support Specialist include:

• Design, analyze, configure, and maintain enterprise network infrastructure environments.
• Perform Layer 2 and Layer 3 routing and switching configuration, troubleshooting, and optimization.
• Support Global Navy Marine Corps network operations and mission-critical communication systems.
• Configure, manage, and troubleshoot Cisco networking equipment, including routers and switches.
• Monitor network performance and resolve complex infrastructure issues using independent judgment and technical expertise.
• Support and maintain firewall technologies and network security controls.
• Assist with IDS/IPS management and overall network security initiatives.
• Administer and support Active Directory environments.
• Develop and maintain technical documentation, network diagrams, system configurations, and operational procedures.
• Collaborate with technical teams to identify infrastructure improvements and recommend strategic solutions.
• Support systems architecture planning and network modernization initiatives.
• Travel as needed to support network operations and project activities.

Qualifications for the Deployed Support Specialist include:

• 4+ years of experience in network engineering, network operations, systems support, or technical support
• Active Secret Security clearance required
• Willingness and ability to travel as required.
• Experience with Layer 2 and Layer 3 routing and switching.
• Hands-on experience configuring and supporting Cisco network infrastructure.
• Experience supporting military network environments, preferably Global Navy Marine Corps network operations. aca
• Knowledge of firewalls, network security principles, and IDS/IPS technologies.
• Experience administering Active Directory environments
• IAT Level II certification, such as CompTIA Security+ CE
• Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) network support certification, such as Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) preferred
• Education: High School Diploma or GED

Compensation for the Deployed Support Specialist includes:

Salary: $55,000-62,400 Depending on experience
