Senior QA Automation Engineer

Zachary Piper Solutions is seeking a Senior QA Automation Engineer to support automated testing, quality assurance, and application modernization initiatives for a mission-critical federal program in Quantico, VA. The Senior QA Automation Engineer will design and implement automated testing frameworks, validate large-scale data migrations, and ensure application reliability across cloud and on-premises environments. This individual will collaborate with Software Development, Cloud Engineering, DevSecOps, and Data Migration teams to deliver secure, high-quality enterprise solutions. This position will be onsite in Quantico, VA and requires an active Top Secret clearance!

Responsibilities of the Senior QA Automation Engineer:

• Design, develop, and maintain automated testing frameworks for web applications, APIs, microservices, and data workflows
• Develop automated functional, regression, integration, and end-to-end test scripts
• Integrate automated testing frameworks into CI/CD pipelines to support continuous testing and deployment
• Validate large-scale data migrations to ensure data accuracy, completeness, consistency, and integrity
• Execute automated testing across cloud-based and on-premises application environments
• Perform API testing, interface validation, and microservices integration testing
• Identify, document, troubleshoot, and track software defects through resolution
• Conduct smoke testing, regression testing, and release verification to ensure deployment readiness
• Collaborate with development, cloud, migration, and DevSecOps teams to improve software quality and testing efficiency
• Participate in Agile ceremonies, including sprint planning, backlog refinement, and technical reviews
• Develop and maintain test plans, automated scripts, defect reports, and testing documentation
• Identify opportunities to improve test coverage, automation efficiency, and overall application reliability

Qualifications for the Senior QA Automation Engineer:

• Active Top Secret clearance
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a related discipline
• 8+ years of experience in software testing, quality assurance automation, or test engineering
• Extensive hands-on experience with automated testing tools such as Selenium, Cypress, Robot Framework, Postman, or similar technologies
• Strong experience developing automated functional, regression, integration, and end-to-end testing frameworks
• Experience integrating automated tests into CI/CD pipelines and DevSecOps environments
• Strong understanding of REST API testing, microservices validation, and application integration testing
• Experience validating large-scale data migrations, troubleshooting data discrepancies, and ensuring data integrity
• Experience testing applications across cloud-based and on-premises environments
• Familiarity with Agile development methodologies, defect tracking, and test management processes
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, technical documentation, and communication skills

Compensation for the Senior QA Automation Engineer includes:

• Salary: $100,000 - $115,000
