Director of Operations

Piper Companies is seeking a Director of Operations to join a growing organization within the insurance and financial services industry for a permanent onsite position in Durham, NC. The Director of Operations will oversee multiple operational teams, drive service excellence, lead process improvements, and develop frontline leaders while ensuring an exceptional customer and partner experience.

Responsibilities of the Director of Operations include:

· Lead daily operations across client services, producer support, new business processing, commissions, licensing, and claims functions.

· Develop and monitor operational metrics while identifying opportunities to improve efficiency, accuracy, and service levels.

· Partner with leadership teams to resolve escalated issues, streamline workflows, and enhance the overall customer experience.

· Coach and mentor managers, establish performance expectations, and support employee growth and engagement initiatives.

· Oversee operational compliance, transaction reviews, and risk management processes while ensuring adherence to company policies.

Qualifications for the Director of Operations include:

· Bachelor’s degree and 3+ years of leadership experience managing operational teams.

· Background in insurance, annuities, financial services, or contact center operations.

· Knowledge of retirement products, annuity administration, and qualified account processes.

· Active North Carolina Life Insurance License required.

· Strong leadership, communication, organizational, and Microsoft Office skills with exceptional attention to detail.

Compensation for the Director of Operations:

· Salary Range: $80,000 - $95,000
