DevOps Engineer, Team Lead

Piper Companies is seeking a DevOps Engineer, Team Lead to join an innovative technology organization within the software and platform engineering industry. The DevOps Engineer, Team Lead will be responsible for building and enhancing deployment systems, enabling engineering teams to efficiently deploy and operate applications within a Kubernetes-based platform. This role is ideal for a candidate with a strong software development background, object-oriented programming expertise, and hands-on experience with modern DevOps practices. The DevOps Engineer, Team Lead is a contract to hire opportunity and allows you to work remote in the United States.

Responsibilities of the DevOps Engineer, Team Lead:

• Develop and enhance deployment systems supporting cloud-native applications and platform services.
• Design and implement Kubernetes deployment strategies utilizing ArgoCD and internal deployment tools.
• Create and maintain "golden paths" that streamline application deployment and operational best practices for engineering teams.
• Collaborate with software engineers and platform teams to improve developer experience and deployment reliability.
• Build, maintain, and optimize internally developed services that support platform operations.
• Automate infrastructure, deployments, and operational workflows to improve efficiency and scalability.

Requirements of the DevOps Engineer, Team Lead:

• 8+ years of experience in DevOps, Site Reliability Engineering, Platform Engineering, or a related field.
• Strong hands-on experience with Kubernetes administration, deployment, and orchestration.
• Experience implementing and managing ArgoCD for Kubernetes deployments.
• Previous software engineering or development experience with a strong foundation in object-oriented programming (OOP).
• Experience designing and supporting deployment platforms and CI/CD workflows.
• Ability to create standardized deployment frameworks and developer enablement solutions.
• Experience working with internally developed services and platform tooling.

Compensation for the DevOps Engineer, Team Lead:

• $150,000 - $180,000
• Full Comprehensive Benefits: Health, Vision, Dental, PTO, Paid Holiday and Sick Leave if Required by Law.
