Assistant Director for Therapeutics Research

JOB DESCRIPTION

Piper Clinical Solutions is seeking a Assistant Director for Therapeutics Research in the Bethesda, MD area to support a well-established national clinical research organization focused on leading and contributing to several multidisciplinary international research projects related to infectious disease studies.

Responsibilities for the Assistant Director for Therapeutics Research:

·       Design, lead and implement infectious disease observation and clinical research studies to support the organizations mission

·       Create and manage grant proposals to acquire funding from various sources

·       Prepare and analyze data and clinical research study findings for presentation at multidisciplinary meetings and publication

·       Lead and assist with all aspects of clinical research studies

·       Manage program status and report directly to institutions, government agencies, sponsors and other research partners

·       Conduct clinical research studies in accordance with established protocols and maintain regulatory and ethical compliance

·       Adhere to Good Clinical Practices (GCP), Good Laboratory Practices (GLP) and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) guidelines in accordance with all federal policies when conducting clinical research studies involving investigational products

·       Oversee all medical procedures associated with clinical research

·       Create, maintain and execute clinical research protocols and documentation regarding study budgets and status reports

·       Understand and implement best practices of ethical research in accordance with HIPAA, GCP and other standards

·       Oversee and manage clinical trial sites and supervise all staff and research activities

Requirements for the Assistant Director for Therapeutics Research:

·       5+ years of leadership experience in public health or a clinical research environment

·       Ability to travel 50% domestically and internationally in austere environments

·       Medical specialty board certification

·       M.D., D.O. or equivalent degree (PhD, MS, MPh preferred but not required)

Compensation for the Assistant Director for Therapeutics Research: 

·       Salary: $173,000+ based on relevant experience
