Principal Splunk Engineer

JOB DESCRIPTION

Piper Companies is currently looking for a Principal Splunk Engineer to work for a reputable IT Security services company located in Reston, VA.  The Principal Splunk Engineer will join a rapidly growing Security Monitoring and Analytics (SMA) team. 

Responsibilities of the Principal Splunk Engineer include:

• Designing, implementing, and optimizing Splunk deployments during client engagements
• Provide expertise in the deployment, configuration, and operations of Splunk
• Troubleshoot issues with large Splunk deployments
• Preform searching and reporting to help customers with the implementation of custom dashboards
• Communicate with customers, clients, and other people on the team

Qualifications for the Principal Splunk Engineer include:                              

• 7+ years of IT/Security experience
• Strong familiarity with Splunk engineering, architecture and deployment experience
• Experience with custom scripting (Bash preferred)
• Knowledgeable with Systems Administration or Programming
• Splunk Certifications are preferred
• Consulting experience is highly recommended

Compensation for the Principal Splunk Engineer include:

• Salary Range: $150,000-$180,000 **depending on experience**
