Technical Support Engineer

Piper Companies is seeking several Technical Support Engineers for an award winning and fast-growing Data Management Software organization in Raleigh, North Carolina.   The Technical Support Engineer must have a strong background in enterprise level customer service, Linux, and network troubleshooting.  A successful candidate for the Technical Support Engineer will possess previous experience working in a support environment while being a team player.

Responsibilities for the Technical Support Engineer:

  • The Technical Support Engineer will help resolve customer issues and support cases
  • This person will work in a team environment and be skilled at diagnosing and resolving problems across varied customer eco-systems
  • Other responsibilities of the Technical Support Engineer include: provide timely feedback to customers, document support processes, and ensure issues have been efficiently & effectively closed out

Technical Requirements for the Technical Support Engineer:

  • 5-7+ years of experience supporting storage/backup verticals
  • Strong knowledge of replication, data recovery, networking, and VMware administration
  • Excellent customer service skills and network troubleshooting skills
  • Strong application experience of command line Linux, back-up methodologies, and storage products & services
  • BS Degree in Computer Science or applicable field is preferred
